Bearded collie

The Bearded Collie is similar to the Old English sheepdog but is generally a lighter and slimmer dog! The Bearded Collie, often fondly known as the Beardie, originated in the UK in the 1500's and is thought to be descended from Polish Lowland Sheepdogs which were brought into Scotland. Although intended for herding sheep the Beardie adapts very well to the rigours of being a household pet!
