Bernese mountain dog

A big (around 65 cm high) charming dog with a lovely personality. The Bernese Mountain dog has been known of since 100 BC in Switzerland when it is thought that native herding dogs bred with guard dogs brought in by the invading Roman forces. In more recent times the Bernese Mountain dog has been used for pulling weaver's carts on market day! It is also know as the Berner Sennenhund.
