Chihuahua

The Chihuahua originated in Mexico in the 1800's where it was developed as a companion dog. Standing only around 18 cms high the Chihuahua is, nontheless, a bold and playful little dog. Named for the Mexican state of Chihuahua where it is thought to have originated it first arrived in the US in the late 19th century from where it moved on to Europe.
