Norwegian elkhound

Developed as a specialist hunter of elk the Norwegian Elkhound is large (around 50 cms high) and powerfully built. Skeletons of Stone Age dogs resembling the Elkhound have been found in Scandinavia. The Norwegian Elkhound is a very friendly dog which makes an excellent companion. It is also known as the Norsk Elghund.
