The much loved Scottie became popular in the 1800's when it was known as the Aberdeen Terrier. Although normally black the Scottish Terrier can come in a variety of other colours including wheaten and brindle.
The Scottish Terrier is a brave, active little dog and makes an alert guard dog around the home. Not the most patient of dogs the Scottish Terrier is not ideally suited to a home with children but will thrive in a rural area where it can have plenty of exercise.
