Shar Pei

Originating in China over 2,000 years ago the Shar Pei may share common ancestry with the Chow Chow with which it shares the unique characteristic of a black tongue. The first Shar Pei dogs arrived in the UK in 1982 and they have subsequently become popular dogs. The Shar Pei (which stands 48 cms high) is an exuberant and friendly dog which makes an excellent companion dog.
