West Highland terrier

The ever popular Westie! Developed in the Western Highlands of Scotland in the 1800's the West Highland Terrier is pure white in coloration and has a thick coat that requires lots of attention. The West Highland Terrier was originally known as the Poltalloch Terrier after a village where they were first bred by a Colonel Malcolm. The Westie is a lively, active and assertive little dog (around 26 cms high) and can often be seen taking it's owner for a walk!
